Privacy Notice

1. Who we are

BEAKONHUB LIMITED is the controller for Locator League. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 12587471. Our registered office is 427 Ashton Old Road, Manchester, M11 2DL. Contact our privacy team at privacy@locatorleague.dev.

2. Information we collect

• Account information: email address, username, password hash, role, and legal-acceptance records.
• Learning activity: submitted code, challenge results, logs, execution time, score, streak, and progress.
• Test artefacts: short-lived video recordings generated by browser test runs.
• Technical and security information: service logs, IP-related request data, device or browser information, and error diagnostics.
• Support communications and information you include when contacting us.
• Local browser storage: your sign-in token, account summary, and saved challenge drafts on your device.

3. Why we use it

We use account and learning data to provide the service and fulfil our contract with you. We use technical, security, and limited diagnostic data for our legitimate interests in protecting, maintaining, and improving Locator League. We keep legal-acceptance records to demonstrate compliance and protect our legal rights.

4. Sharing and international processing

We use service providers for cloud hosting, encrypted backups, uptime monitoring, and privacy-filtered error monitoring. These providers process information for us under their own security and contractual safeguards. Test code may connect to the public website named in a challenge. Some providers may process information outside the UK; where required, we use recognised transfer safeguards.

We do not sell personal information and do not currently use it for third-party advertising.

5. How long we keep it

• Account and learning records are kept while your account is active and then only as needed for legal, security, or operational purposes.
• Test videos are scheduled for deletion after 24 hours.
• Operational logs and error reports are retained for the configured provider retention period and reviewed periodically.
• Encrypted backups follow our rolling backup schedule. Deleted information may remain in protected backups until those backups expire.

6. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to our use of your information. Email privacy@locatorleague.dev from your registered address. We may need to verify your identity. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.

7. Cookies and local storage

Locator League uses browser storage that is necessary to keep you signed in and preserve editor drafts. We do not currently use advertising cookies or optional analytics cookies. If that changes, we will update this notice and, where required, ask for consent before using them.

8. Younger learners

Locator League is a learning platform for people of all ages. We do not ask learners to provide a date of birth. If you are under 18, ask a parent or guardian to help you understand this notice and use the service safely. A parent or guardian can contact us about a younger learner’s information at privacy@locatorleague.dev.

9. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice as the service develops. Material changes will be highlighted in the service and the effective date above will be revised.
